Makoto Shinkai held a special meet and greet type thing at Anime Expo 2013. They gave everyone 1 free alcoholic drink and it was supposed to be some sort of hangout type environment where they will promote his Garden of Words movie. Due to time and the extremely large crowd, it pretty much turned out to be almost entirely a long autograph session.
