I got this Aestivalis sketch at AX 1999. In case you don't know, the Aestivalis were the mech's the Earthlings (I wanted to write humans, but the bad guys are technically human as well) used in Nadesico. Mika Akitaka was the mecha artist for a bunch of mecha series and strangely enough, the character designer for Galaxy Fraulein Yuna. He can draw both crazy mecha and cute female characters.
