Akiman is the pen name for Akira Yasuda. He is the original artist for Street Fighter II and created many of the character designs of the original iconic characters such as Chun Li. He is on the list of artists I never expected to meet in the USA.
I was extremely lucky to win this sketch in a raffle at SDCC 2015. This was the first time I have ever heard of Akiman attending a con in the USA and getting the raffle tickets invoved buying a $100 art book. I think they sold something like 130 art books with several people buying multiple art books. Imagine my surprise when they called out my number at the event. I literally jumped up and yelled! I also need to thank my friend Evan for picking up that raffle ticket for me hohoho!
