This shikishi was one of the tier rewards for backing the Vanilla Essense kickstarter project. I am a big Yamatogawa fan and jumped at the chance to get original artwork from him by backing the project. Maria is my favorite character from the manga Power Play. She is your generic medival type female warrior who you know will be getting raped at some point of the manga. I requested "Maria with tentacles" and Yamatogawa went all out! He filled out the entire shikishi and even made the tentacles translucent! I lot of work definitely went into the shikishi. I also appreciate the [I <3 tentacles] he added to the shikishi.
